A Boilerplate Oyster is not quickly farmed raised like its aquaculture contemporaries. It's a reproductive, cage-free, bag-free, native Crassostrea Virginica oyster allowed to grow naturally wild as it has for more than 5,000 years from beds on the York River near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Its heavyweight shell is 3x the thickness and strength of a typically farmed oyster. Boilerplate's large identifiable hinge allow them to be easily opened without shattering.

Shedding Chesapeake soft-shell blue crab is our annual labor of love. Hence our name, Boilerplate Crab & Co. Soft-shell crab season usually runs around the first full moon in May but only for 2 to 6 weeks.
Overnight deliveries start daily as soon as the first crab shed their shell. If you blink you miss it.
